How to Find the Motivation to Pursue Your Fitness Goals

How to Find the Motivation to Pursue Your Fitness Goals

You need to realize that in order for you to succeed and achieve your fitness goals, you’ll need to be motivated. Reaching your goals becomes incredibly difficult, if not downright impossible, if you work out only whenever you want. You can’t achieve fitness after only a day. It’s important to be consistent with your exercise program if you want to realize your fitness goals. That’s why we’ll be discussing several proven tactics to help you stay motivated to work out regularly.

If you have specific fitness goals, they can keep you motivated. Rather than have very general goals, such as to get healthier or to lose weight, it’s preferable to have ones that are more specific. For instance, a specific goal can be to lose 30 pounds or to set a target weight for you. Whether you want to run or lift weights, make sure you set specific goals such as how many miles or how much weight. You’ll be a lot more focused if you have your specific goals written down. You can have several major goals, but you’ll find it easier to concentrate on one goal at a time.

For many people, lack of time is a huge reason they can’t stick to an exercise program. Many hesitate to start an exercise program because they don’t think they’ll be able to fit it in to their already busy schedule.

However, did you know that workout out for just 10 to 20 a day can do a lot? You can try to work out for 20 minutes if an hour at the gym isn’t possible. It may not seem like a long time, but 20 minutes is actually enough for you to get some beneficial workout done. Besides, who says you can’t break down your workouts in shorter sessions? If you’re unable to workout continuously for 30 minutes, for example, you can try working out for 10 minutes at a time. You can keep your motivation to work out regularly high if you know that you don’t have to spend an hour or so every day to exercise.

Don’t be afraid to look to others for motivation as you attempt to get fit. If you’re trying to lose weight, find stories of celebrities or others who have successfully lost a lot of weight. If you enjoy sports there should be plenty of athletes with workout routines you can read about. Stories abound about their fitness routines. You don’t have to do exactly the same exercises that these athletes do. You must conform your workouts around what your body is presently able to do. But focusing on what some of your role models have accomplished can be very inspiring.

If you apply the fitness tips in this article, you will be able to remain motivated. If you are to reach the fitness goals you set for yourself, you need to have motivation. Start off slowly and try to find a type of exercise that you enjoy.

Sports and Exercise Safety -Prevention and Preparation To Stay Healthy

Sports and Exercise Safety -Prevention and Preparation To Stay Healthy

Injuries incurred during sports or exercise are quite common. While a small portion of injuries are truly serious, the majority are mainly annoying and frustrating. Don’t make the mistake that many make, which is to ignore the risks of injury you take upon yourself when exercising or participating in a sport. The specific steps you’d take to stay as safe as possible will differ from one sport or exercise to the next. But there are two main areas of concern here. First of all, we have to consider what can be done prior to starting the exercise or sport. The other aspect to look at is what you can do while actually playing or working out to stay safe and healthy. This article will address some of the more common concerns with sports and exercise safety.

One of the best ways to avoid any kind of sports or exercise injury is to simply ensure that your body is ready for the activity in question. Warming up is something everyone should do, no matter how old you are or how strong, fast or fit. Even high performing, professional athletes need to warm up. Before you start doing anything too strenuous, it’s important that your muscles are first prepared by getting the blood pumping their way. Stretching is another practice that should never be overlooked. If you are a child and wants to practice gymnastics using for example the junior kip bar, its crucial that a warm up is needed.  A muscle injury is something that can happen to anyone, which is why stretching should be done before any strenuous activity.

If you’re involved in sports, you’ve surely experienced the struggle of starting a new season after not having played for a while. It’s hard to start off the season in top condition, so you then have to focus on improving your state. So what we always recommend, as do others, is to maintain a basic fitness level during the off season. It’s normal to have a higher level of conditioning while you’re playing your sport, but if you can at least stay in decent shape throughout the year, you’ll get off to a better start. No one can force you to do this, but if you try it you’ll find that it can be very beneficial. Injuries early in the season are fairly common, but if you start off in good shape, this probably won’t happen to you.

There are support devices that some athletes wear for their knees or ankles and you may be wondering if these are helpful. You can’t know why someone uses a support like this unless you ask them. In case you think one of these will help you, it’s important to keep something in mind. What you have to watch out for is the feeling that you’re invulnerable because of this item. You may feel safer and more supported, which you will be to some extent. This doesn’t mean, however, that you can suddenly do whatever you want or defy all sensible precautions. If you don’t use common sense, you can still get injured, no matter what kind of support you have.

In order to prevent dehydration, you must be wary of what your body tells you and follow through with fitting procedure. One important point to remember is that if you are experiencing thirst; you are most likely somewhat dehydrated. Drink non-sugared fluids, water is best, at regular intervals when you are exercising or practicing your sport. One sign of being overheated is the start of a headache or light headedness.

Outdated Fitness Equipment of the Decade

Here are the 10 outdated fitness equipment of the decade.

1. Electronic ab belts
These belts claim to work your muscles by sending charges to flex your muscles. I personally bought into the hype and purchased an electronic ab belt. I followed all the instructions and tried the belt for a few months. I lost interest and didn’t see any noticeable results.

2. Slam-Man
The Slam-Man gives a human shape to a punching bag. I thought this was a good idea for learning self defense. I did find this item to be a great stress reliever and a better focal point to practice boxing in comparison to a punching bag.

3. The Ab Lounge
The Ab Lounge is produced by Tony Little. I know of a few of my friends who have purchased this item and they did not see any results with the use of it and some even stated that they use it more like a lounge chair instead of a workout device.

4. Cheeks Exercise sandals
The Cheeks Exercise sandals are also produced by Tony Little. These sandals claim to give you a workout just by simply walking around. This product has now been outdated and improved to the next step of footwear being turned into a form of exercise equipment. There is now a newer product out of tennis shoes that claim to do the same thing.

5. Manual folding treadmill
Manual folding treadmills were thought to be a new way to bring the large exercise equipment of a treadmill together with the convenience of folding it away to conceal it and make for a better storage alternative. The problem with these are that they are considered to be flimsy and not able to hold up to the actions that a treadmill is supposed to support.

6. Jumpsnap jumprope
The Jumpsnap jumprope is basically a jump rope without the rope. It sold like wildfire for its simplistic design of being two handles and no rope made it easy to jump rope anywhere. Since there was no rope there was no coordination practice of having a target to jump over.

7. Shake Weight
The shake weight I found to be a very unique craze that a lot of celebrities promoted. It is what it sounds like. It is a dumbbell that shakes by using a new technology called Dynamic Inertia. Upon watching the video of this I thought it was more of a way to jolt your arms out of place or cause more of a strain on your body rather than a healthy workout.

8. 3 minute legs
The 3 minute legs has two steel tubes attached to a seat. It is a lower body sculpting machine that uses assistance technology to take away the stress of the workout.

9. The Rock and Go
When I came across the Rock and Go, I quickly found that it closely resembled a scaled down version of a mechanical bull.

10. Ab scissor ultra
Body by Jake’s ab scissor ultra is more costly then similar equipment. It basically gives you another way to do crunches.
